FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What does FEAV stand for and what is its primary focus?

FEAV is a bilingual non-profit based in the Gatineau-Ottawa region. Our primary focus is to empower immigrants, newcomers, and individuals facing addiction or mental health challenges by connecting them to housing, employment, and comprehensive support services.

Is FEAV a registered charity, and can I receive a tax receipt for my donation?

Yes, FEAV is a registered non-profit organization. We issue official tax receipts for all eligible financial donations made in Canada.

Are your services only available in Ottawa-Gatineau?

Our core operations and partnerships are focused on the Gatineau-Ottawa region (connecting services across Quebec and Ontario). However, our goal is to coordinate with provincial networks (like CISSS/CIUSSS and RRR) to ensure clients have broad access to support across the provinces where needed.

How can I access housing or employment assistance through FEAV?

Our support begins with an intake process. Please use the contact form on this page or call our office during business hours to schedule an initial consultation with a case manager. They will assess your needs and guide you through the Immigrant Success Strategy (ISS) or Recovery programs

What is the partnership with RRR?

RRR is a key partner in our Recovery & Mental Health Support programs. We collaborate to operate government-partnered recovery housing, facilitate relapse prevention programs, and ensure our clients have access to specialized peer counseling and reintegration services.

Do you only help newcomers, or do you also support long-time residents?

Our services are comprehensive. We support newcomers and immigrants with integration, but we also provide crucial addiction and mental health recovery support to any individual in the community rebuilding their life and stability.

I represent a municipal program. How can we partner?

We actively seek collaboration! Please direct partnership inquiries to our dedicated email address: [Partnership Email Address]. We specialize in bridging government, community, and non-profit initiatives to deliver coordinated support.
